Overview
One weekend of action in the books for Teamfight Tactics Set 16: Lore & Legends and the dev team at Riot has cooked up some changes ahead of the Paris Open Invitational this week that focuses on softening the impact of the Fast9 tempo that is dominating high elo lobbies at the moment.
As always, be sure to check out our comps page to stay up to date with that's hot or not in the meta, which you can find here. And Riot's official patch notes are here, but if you don't want to read too much, here's the TLDR:
Lucky Doubloon (Bilgewater item) bonus serpents nerfed from 3 -> 1
Yordle (6) free reroll 2 -> 1
Lulu, Rumble, and Teemo buffed to compensate for Yordle (6) nerf
Blitz, Rek'sai, Tryndamere, Yasuo, Darius, Jinx, Malz, and Nidalee are all underplayed units who have received buffs
Kai'Sa's AD form is receiving a buff
Diana AS and AD nerfed (targeting her AS build)
Aurelion Sol, Ryze, and Zaahen buffed
Fiddlesticks, Kindred, Senna Lucian, and Sylas nerfed
Conclusions
Fast9 will still be strong as champions like Annie and Shvyana have been left untouched. Yordle receiving buffs means it might be more stable to run it as a holdover comp to 9. One free reroll a turn plus the Yordle Grab Bag is still going to be about 7 gold of value per turn. Bilgewater is definitely going to feel more underwhelming, though -> a couple different nerfs means it'll be hard to force it if you don't have it on 2-1.
Otherwise level 8 comps will benefit from these changes. Yunara and Lissandra boards were already strong and will remain so. Demacian boards can now look to add Kai'Sa as a duo carry or even primary carry.
